Profile for IPSec Interoperability of D-Link DI-804HV, DI-808HV, or DI-824VUP+

You can configure DI-804HV, DI-808HV, and DI-824VUP+ by web management interface. Type 192.168.0.1 (The LAN IP is 192.168.0.1 by default) in the browser, and then input user name: admin (there is no password by default) to pass authentication of web management interface. (...)
Then finish the configurations as showed below on Gateway A and Gateway B.Before you start to establish VPN connection between Gateway A and Gateway B, please make sure the Internet connection between Gateway A and Gateway B is workable.
You can use “Ping Test” tool on Gateway A (or Gateway B), and input the IP address of Gateway B (or Gateway A) to see if there is any response from its peer device. Connect a PC (called PC_A) to the LAN port of Gateway A, and connect another PC (called PC_B) to the LAN port of Gateway B. Start to “Ping” PC_B on PC_A, then Gateway A will start to establish IPSec connection with Gateway B. If you can get “Ping” responses from PC_B on PC_A, then it means the tunnel has been established successfully. You can also check the “VPN Status” page with web management interface to verify the status of VPN connections.

The DWL-2100AP Product Overview

The DWL-2100AP is a powerful wireless access point for business-class enterpris environments. Designed for indoor installation, this access point provides advanced functionsincluding 108Mbps Turbo speed, security and Quality of Service (QoS) and flexible operation modes for network administrators to deploy a highly manageable and robust wireless network Up to 108Mbps Wireless Speed. (...) Complying with the 802.11g WLAN standard, the DWL-2100AP provides speeds of up to 54Mbps when used with other 802.11g wireless products, and 108Mbps when operating with other D-Link wireless devices supporting this Turbo mode.
Delivering throughput capable of handling heavy data payloads, this device is an ideal solution for bandwidth intensive applications. It is backward compatible with 802.11b wireless devices and provides seamless interoperability with the earlier standard equipment.
Advanced Network Security. The DWL-2100AP supports 64/128-bit WEP data encryption and WPA/WPA2 security functions. In addition, it provides MAC Address Filtering to control user access, and the Disable SSID Broadcast function to limit outsiders' access to the internal network.Increased Network Flexibility and Efficiency. The DWL-2100AP can be configured to operate as an access point (AP), an AP client, a bridge (Wireless Distribution System or WDS), a WDS with AP, or a repeater. It supports up to 8 SSID, allowing the administrators to logically divide the access point into several virtual access points all within a single hardware platform. Rather than having two separate networks with two access points, administrators can deploy one single AP to support more than one application, such as public Internet access and internal network control to increase flexibility and keep costs down. The DWL-2100AP supports 802.1Q VLAN Tagging, operating with multiple SSID to segment traffic to enhance performance and security. For Quality of Service (QoS), the DWL-2100AP is WMM (Wi-FiTM Multimedia) certified.
The DWL-2100AP provides WLAN STA partitioning, a function useful for deployments like at hotspots. With station-to-station partitioning enabled, security is enhanced, since wireless users cannot peek at each other, and the possibility for data thievery is reduced. Administrators can, however, disable this function, so wireless users at an office can share hard disks and information, and peripherals such as wireless printers. The DWL-2100AP also supports AP grouping, allowing several access points to balance wireless network traffic and wireless clients among the AP with the same SSID and different non-overlapping frequency channels.
Advanced Network Management. Network administrators can manage DWL-2100AP's settings via web-based configuration or Telnet. Administrators can use a Windows-based utility called AP Manager to automatically discover all wireless devices installed on the network and do bulk configuration of multiple AP to save time and effort. Strict protection is provided by limiting management access to two pre-set administrator IP addresses and by implementing SSL/SSH protocol-based security.

Rogue AP Feature On Dwl-2100 (Upgrade Firmware)

You can even have a malicious insider or, worse, an outsider on an adjacent floor, which has set up a rogue AP for your users to connect to. This is a very simple setup for the hacker...Read more

All he has to do is set up an AP using your SSID and wait for your wireless systems to associate with it. There are also programs that automate the process of creating “fake” Apes. If this occurs, hackers can capture virtually all traffic flowing to and from your wireless clients (Wireless Hacking for Dummies:2005). So, Rogue AP Detection is User Can check Rogue Access Point or Ad-Hoc Device. If you upgrade old firmware to 250, you have blocking intruders with this feature. Look the term on this Rogue AP Detection feature;

Rogue AP Detection
User can check Rogue Access Point or Ad-Hoc Device

BSS Type
once both are selected, Ad-Hoc mode and AP mode would be Site Surveyed.
If only Ad-Hoc Mode is selected, only Ad-Hoc setting device would be revealed onsite survey table.
If only AP Mode is selected, only AP setting device would be revealed on site survey table.

Band
Once 11b is selected, 11b band supported device would be Site Surveyed.
If 11g is selected, 11g band supported device would be revealed on site survey table.
If 11b is selected, 11b band supported device would be revealed on site survey table.

Security
When different security type is selected, matched device would be revealed on site survey table.

Rogue AP List
User can confirm each site survey data. Once defined as legal device, record would be shown and stored on AP List.

AP List

Once surveyed devices are confirmed legal / neighborhood AP or WLAN device and have been added in the AP List, they are shown here. Click Del to delete the AP from the list. Look new feature!

Before it, You must upgrade old to new firmware (download here). Look the picture!

Easy Secure Your Home Network

My friends ask to me, how to control their wireless home network? You can control it, with Network Magic, I suggest. How about security issues? Read more..Network Magic continuously checks your network, including your network connections, computers, devices, and printers.
You can get network status information quickly and easily. But, If you see the new device not your network, you can set (it device) to intruder. [Right Click] and select [track as intruder]. The Status Center presents this information in automatically updated panels, similar to the dashboard of your car. From a single page, you can see the following activity about your network and devices:
  • Connection — if a PC on the network loses Internet connectivity, the link Not Connected appears. You can use Troubleshoot Connection to help determine the cause of the problem and get a suggestion for a solution. You can also check the speed of the connection.
  • Network Magic — if your copy of Network Magic is out of date or you are unsure of the version you have installed, you can easily check the version and connect to the download area for new releases.
  • News and Information — when you want to learn tips and tricks about keeping your network running smoothly and effectively, you can find current networking and product articles and information.
  • Health and Security Alerts — If you aren’t sure the last time you installed updates to Windows, or you want to track intruders, you can view network alerts and access ways to fix the problem.
  • Wireless Protection — you can prevent intruders from accessing your wireless network by using the Wireless Protection settings. These settings allow you to lock your network to prevent unauthorized users from logging on, hide your network name so others can't see that your network exists, and set up wireless security.
  • Activity Monitor — when you want to check recent log-ins, network additions, and usage for a specific computer, you can view the Network History report.
  • Remote Access — once you set up your Net2Go Web site, you can access the site and any details about Web-based file sharing and settings.
