This is old tutorials how to setting you’re D-Link 2100 Access Point. But, we must share this article for beginner. So, I’m sorry for network administrator, hacker, etc.
As you know, D-link 2100 AP as same name as DWL-2100 AP. This Access Point has two method setting; first, set with AP manager method. Second, set with telnet menu. Note, before set your access point, you must set LAN IP to [use the following IP Address]. Or, in another term, set your LAN IP to static. For example, insert to your LAN IP 192.168.0.57 besides 192.168.0.50. You cannot configure your setting if you insert to LAN IP 192.168.0.50. Because, the default WAN IP of D-link 2100 AP is 192.168.0.50. We recommendation, before you want set your access point; set to default setting. Its way pushes the [reset button] for 10 seconds.
All right, if you want configure your D-link 2100 with AP Manager Software, it’s so easy. You have this software include in D-link 2100 AP Driver CD. If you don’t have it, download to D-link. Next step, insert Your IP 192.168.0.50 in your browser. Insert username is “admin” [default] and password “leave blank”. Find your information around your AP.
Next, if want configure with telnet method. Click [start windows] [run] type [cmd] [enter]. Now, you can see command prompt. Type “telnet 192.168.0.50” [enter]. Look! Telnet method entered to access point setting. Insert admin for login and leave blank password and [enter].
D-link Corp. Access Point Wlan1 ->(type) get [space] power <= display your txpower.
D-link Corp. Access Point Wlan1 ->(type) set [space] overridetxpower [space] 19 <= boosting up txpower to 19 dBm.
